Overview
Solc-Go provides Golang bindings for the Solidity compiler using Emscripten-compiled binaries from the official solc-bin repository. It supports dynamic version selection — embedded versions compile instantly, while other versions are downloaded automatically on first use.
The API covers the full compilation pipeline: pass Solidity source code with compiler settings (optimiser runs, EVM version, output selection) and receive ABI definitions, bytecode, and metadata. Error and warning handling is built in, and the library supports compiling multiple contracts in a single call with cross-file imports.
Solc-Go is used as the compilation backend in the Argo Trading framework's smart contract tooling and the Crypto Launchpad MCP server. It handles the complexity of managing multiple Solidity versions across platforms so downstream tools can focus on contract logic rather than compiler orchestration.
