Authenticator

MCProuter Authenticator is a Go package that provides API key authentication for MCProuter applications. It validates API keys against a remote authentication service and includes ready-to-use middleware for the Fiber web framework, making it straightforward to secure MCP server endpoints.

The package exposes three modules: an authenticator that handles the HTTP calls to the auth service, a Fiber middleware that extracts API keys from request headers and validates them, and type definitions for users and auth requests/responses. Failed authentication returns appropriate HTTP status codes with structured error messages.

Designed for the MCProuter ecosystem where multiple MCP servers need consistent authentication, the package centralises auth logic so each server doesn't need to implement its own key validation. It's imported as a standard Go module and configured with the auth service URL at startup.
