Overview
LLM Translation Extension is a Chrome extension that translates entire web pages using language model APIs through the Vercel AI SDK. It processes text nodes in the background, showing real-time progress (translated nodes vs total nodes), and lets you stop the translation at any time.
The extension has three pages: a settings page for configuring target language, API key, model URL, and model ID; a terms page for defining custom terminology with categories (original text, translated text, and descriptions) rendered efficiently with @tanstack/react-virtual; and the translation page that triggers page translation with the pageTranslator function.
Built with TypeScript, React, Tailwind CSS, Nunjucks templates, and Vite for bundling. The custom terminology feature is particularly useful for technical content where standard translations miss domain-specific terms — define your glossary once and the LLM uses it consistently across every page you translate.
